Celebrate LOVE Consciously Today

Pink Flowers

“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. “ Mother Teresa

Valentine's Day and Thanksgiving are two of my favorite celebrations. Thanksgiving Day is all about gratitude, and even though I try to keep gratitude as part of my life practice I sometimes forget how good my life is. I get an attitude adjustment when I spend time in gratitude.

Valentine's Day is similar for me because this day helps me reflect on ALL the loving relationships I have in my life. It helps me reflect in a conscious and grateful way.

Valentine's Day is not just about having a significant other in life, it is so much more to me.

“Love starts with self-love. If we do not love ourselves how can we truly love another to the fullest degree? If you do not have someone in your life that you are celebrating with today, on this day of love, then I encourage you to take time to do something wonderful for yourself.”

Show your self-love! Take time to consciously love yourself in a way that you would like a significant other to love you. How would you like to be treated by that “sweetie”? By doing this for yourself you are better able to know what you may want in a partner. Say the things consciously to your self that you would like from that partner.

I spent a lot of time hating myself when I was younger. I thought the harder I was on myself the better I would do in life. I had it all wrong. I found out that I can only let the love in from another that I am willing to feel for myself.

Try This! Consciously put love out to the world that you would like to have come your way. What you put out in the world comes back to you. Think of those chain letters that go around. You send them out and typically the first person who is supposed to get one from the next person in the chain is you. (I don’t like chain letters but it is a good example.)

I love the visual of a pebble being tossed into a still pond and watching the ripples cascade out from that one small spot. The neurons in our brain function this way, with one spot in our brain stimulated then sending out impulses and messages throughout the brain. This is not a random occurrence but a pathway.

Think of other people in your life that you can consciously send love and caring to today like; friends, family, co-workers, Facebook friends, or a stranger you see in your favorite coffee shop routinely. Consciously think of what you could do to make them feel cared about.

Doing loving acts does not have to cost you a dime.

Be creative today in the way you send out your loving energy and see what happens for you. Just notice how it feels. You might want to make it a habit in your life throughout the year, just like the practice of gratitude!

All of us at Raising Consciousness NOW and Consciousness NOW.TV are sending you heartfelt loving energy knowing this energy ripples around our world.
